Influence of Grain Size on the Corrosion Behaviour of a Commercial Aluminuim - 1% Manganese Alloy
Vol 1 No 1 (1992)
Published: Mar 1, 1992
Abstract
The microstructural characterization of a number of samples of a commercial aluminium 1% manganese alloy subjected to a series of corrosion tests, has been conducted by means of both light and electron microscopy techniques. The thermomechanical treatments carried out gave rise to a wide variety of grain sizes ranging between 24 to 320 um, without a significant change in the shape, size and distribution of the secondary phase particles.
