Sample preparation is an essential step in microscopy and depends on the material to be studied and the specific microscopy technique. In general, sample preparation often involves elaborate and time-
consuming procedures.

There are numerous papers in specific sample preparation techniques that have been published in the last decades, from very modern sample preparation techniques, to low costs simple techniques, but all of them require the expertise of whom makes this work.

In this Special Issue, the invited authors present methods on sample preparation of human tooth samples for observation by light microscopy, SEM and TEM; a review on polymer sample preparation and an important revisited sample preparation for EBSD that integrates traditional methods and new techniques in the last three decades.
